What is reporter, anyway? Is that secretary? Reporter sounds stupid.
I guess it's not possible this school is populated by a lot of people with the last names Black and White and this is last year's election results.

Optimistic thought but no.
And maybe the reporter announces class news or something, I'm not really sure. Looks like treasurer and secretary are the same though.

Yeah, they're still blaming a "court order" though.
Same school also required racially balanced homecoming courts. And by balanced I mean one white and one black candidate (or winner?) for each class. It's just weird.

 My mother talked about situations like this when she was in middle school (small school, small town, Alabama), and said most people she knew thought it was behind the times even back then in small town Alabama (I don't remember when exactly that was, but let's say at least 35-40 years ago). So how in the hell did someone put this plan into action in 2010?
