als463 - if you are a typical example of the "sorority girl" (or what a sorority girl grows up to be (and, actually, i don't think you are), i don't know who would want to be one!

your responses are just rude. there is a difference between "telling it like it is" and rude, and YOU are the latter.

so many people here talk about being polite by going to all parties to which you are invited and such and knowing what (and what not!) to talk about, etc.

how did YOU ever get in a sorority.

or did you just turn into a bitter witch recently?

I'll tell you how I got into a sorority. I chose to maximize MY OPTIONS and I gave EVERY sorority a chance. I think that my sisters also liked the fact, since they later told me it was one of my greatest features, that I served my country in a war zone as an Intelligence Analyst. I wouldn't say I'm a bitter witch because I respect all of the sororities NPC / NPHC. I recognize that every one of them has some redeeming quality and I chose not to turn my nose up at that fact.

As far as a helicopter parent goes, that is exactly what you are. I can't even imagine one of my parents coming on GC and trying to start fights with people they don't even know. If this is how you act on a site where your daughter could have been given great recruitment advice, I'm wondering how much you hovered over her during her actual recruitment. Who knows, maybe YOU hurt her recruitment.

really, you know nothing about me or what i did or did not do.

i didn't come here to start fights with people, i just stated an opinion and then all the bullies ganged up. you all could just as easily drop it.

and i didn't hover over her at all. only talked to her once during the week, as a matter of fact. i am quite sure my supposed hovering didn't impact her experience one way or the other.

believe what you want.

oh, and just so you know ... the sorority that she ended up dropping in the end is still courting her. so they don't seem to be too offended that she ended up dropping out.

whatever.
