Focus on doing really well in school and raising your GPA. When I was in college, that also included taking "fluff" courses and/or summer courses to raise your grades. That was done to be eligible for Greekdom (that's not the topic I care about right now) but more importantly to reach your maximum potential and not waste your college investment.
There are plenty of people who graduated with GPAs that they weren't too proud of but recovered from it by getting graduate degrees or finding another way to recognize their potential. Although you will have to submit undergraduate transcripts for graduate schools and certain types of jobs, your undergraduate GPA does NOT follow you for the rest of your life.

This^. Bring up your grades now, focus on making school your job, and if you enter a graduate program, bust your butt to make up for the undergrad GPA.
Also, make sure to keep your major GPA high. I know my grade problems usually came from gen-ed courses, so I focused on making sure I was making good grades in my major to help offset that. If you haven't already, visit the Graduate Studies office on your campus. They can help you decide how to maximize your options and can point you towards tutors or study skills help if you need it.

als463 - if you are a typical example of the "sorority girl" (or what a sorority girl grows up to be (and, actually, i don't think you are), i don't know who would want to be one!
your responses are just rude. there is a difference between "telling it like it is" and rude, and YOU are the latter.
so many people here talk about being polite by going to all parties to which you are invited and such and knowing what (and what not!) to talk about, etc.
how did YOU ever get in a sorority.
or did you just turn into a bitter witch recently?

I'll tell you how I got into a sorority. I chose to maximize MY OPTIONS and I gave EVERY sorority a chance. I think that my sisters also liked the fact, since they later told me it was one of my greatest features, that I served my country in a war zone as an Intelligence Analyst. I wouldn't say I'm a bitter witch because I respect all of the sororities NPC / NPHC. I recognize that every one of them has some redeeming quality and I chose not to turn my nose up at that fact.
As far as a helicopter parent goes, that is exactly what you are. I can't even imagine one of my parents coming on GC and trying to start fights with people they don't even know. If this is how you act on a site where your daughter could have been given great recruitment advice, I'm wondering how much you hovered over her during her actual recruitment. Who knows, maybe YOU hurt her recruitment.

Dr.Phil, hey-come on...I had to. You know I couldn't just not. You all should know me well enough by now.

really, you know nothing about me or what i did or did not do.
i didn't come here to start fights with people, i just stated an opinion and then all the bullies ganged up. you all could just as easily drop it.
and i didn't hover over her at all. only talked to her once during the week, as a matter of fact. i am quite sure my supposed hovering didn't impact her experience one way or the other.
believe what you want.
oh, and just so you know ... the sorority that she ended up dropping in the end is still courting her. so they don't seem to be too offended that she ended up dropping out.
whatever.
