So you call Japan Nippon and France Francia and Germany Deutscheland, right? Because it's not right to translate.

Bwah ha ha ha!
Anyway, I really missed my Mexican food in Baltimore. We had some surprisingly good, REAL mexican food in Shreveport, LA, along with the usual Tex-Mex that you'd expect in a city that's practically in Texas.
BTW, we Baton Rouge natives call it Red Stick all the time, and there are stores, ie. Red Stick Sports named after the city. But I do cringe when people say Baton Rouge with a French accent.

I'm glad that Louisiana keeps it off our hands

I figured as much.
I'm just wondering what we're supposed to call Switzerland: la Suisse, la Svizzera, la Svizra, die Schwiez, d'Schwiiz or Helvetia?
And does not translating names mean we should all be calling ourselves Hellenic Letter Societies?

Die Schweiz, duh. Bern is the capital - part of the German-speaking region.
If you're in Geneva, however, it's la Suisse .
For what it's worth, in 2000, about three quarters of the population spoke German primarily:

Well, there is a difference when it's a person's name versus the name of a place or country.
