Note from my daughter's recruitment: If it is "casual" this does NOT mean (if it is hot) cutoffs and flipflops. It would mean a nice sundress and yes, comfortable shoes. "Nice" generally translates into something that you might wear out to a luncheon.

Hemlines are a touchy issue: I know that, from reading GC that hemlines in the south are much lower than here in SoCal. My daughter's hemlines go as far north as they can go for decency's sake. If you have nice legs, and the hemlines work in your area go for it. And if the legs aren't your best feature AND you are in, for example, SoCal...don't.
