iPhone 4/ OS4
Starting this thread since DS is being negligent.
Who's getting it or wants to get it? I've upgraded but I shouldn't be getting mine for another three weeks because of the crazy high demand.
I will be downloading the new OS when it's released later today though.

Currently a blackberry user. I do want an Android phone and am leaning towards the Nexus One once its int store, whenever that'll be.
I do think the iPhone is a good product just the closed loop of Apple doesn't appeal to me at all. Probably the main reason I haven't gotten an iPad.

I used to be a BlackBerry user and really liked the phones but I made the switch in 08 and love it. I used to have cell phone envy and would want a new phone every 6 months when something better and cooler would come out, so the fact that I've had the same iPhone for over two years now says a lot.

But does that have more to do with AT&T's contract and the fact that upgrading your iPhone more frequently would be impractical?
I'd love to be a gadget person, but it's freaking expensive. Except for insurance or warranty replacements I keep my phone for at least the 2 year contract period. The only MP3 player I have is an ex-coworker's samsung. It's not that I don't like the pretty toys, but they've never seemed worth investing in.
I do want an ebook reader though I haven't figured out which one would be preferable and I don't know when I'd be able to get one for myself.

My husband has a BlackBerry. I have an iPhone. We both agree that the iPhone is infinitely better.
Got my phone within the past year so I am not yet eligible for the discounted upgrade. Overall I am content with what my current phone offers, except I wish the battery life was longer. Am I intrigued by the improved picture/movie quality of the newere version? Sure, but not enough to pay for an upgrade at this point.

No, I paid full price for my last BB because I got it too soon after my last upgrade, which I hated ( the pearl). I don't mind because I AM a gadget person. If it's shiny and electronic, I want it.

I am a gadget person, but I can never really afford to be so I never act on it. But I have come to a point where I can and I am treating myself to an iphone 4 as soon as I get my next paycheck . I have been back and forth about all the different types of smartphones, and I was at first skeptical of the iphone, but recently no other phone has compared and I want the new one very badly.

I'm getting it on Thursday!
I have an iPhone 4 (32GB) reserved for me at one of the local Apple Stores. My 3g phone will be sent to its new owner.
I can't wait

I have the HD2 (from T-Mobile) and through the B&N app it comes with, you can download and read books from the phone. It comes pre-loaded with 3 e-books already (Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, and something else) but you can purchase whatever e-book and read it from your phone.

Phones are too small, even browsing the web my on vaguely blackberry shaped Samsung I have to scroll way too much.
I'd want a Kindle or Nook or Sony or something but they're all proprietary about their formats and i haven't done the research yet due to the price range. Also reading on a backlit screen is harder than the eInk.

I thought the thing about the Nexus One was that you HAD to buy it directly from Google, and that it would not be in stores?
Live-in has it and totally loves it - he's a tech geek and really loves that he can change all the settings himself and it's all open source.

I've had my current phone for almost 4 years now.

I have a Kindle (actually, it's Live-in's until I save enough to buy it from him so he can buy an iPad, but since he doesn't like the Kindle he lets me use it anyway), and I like it very much. The difference between us, though, is that he likes to read comic books which can't be read on the Kindle, and I like to read books and the backlight hurts my eyes eventually.

I have an eBook on my iPod Touch right now but I find I can't concentrate on the iPod long enough to actually do any significant reading. I've been "reading" Madame Bovary for about 6 months now and am only in chapter 8, and I swear to God I try to pick it up and read it at least once per week.

Oooh hmmm...maybe I won't read those books then lol. I have them on there to look like I actually use my phone for more than just texting and getting on facebook! lol.
But then again I'm not a fan of Dracula, P&P or Little Women.
