Our Homecoming or Greek Week partners would serrenade us before the big event, sometimes we had a social comingg up with a chapter and they did it. It was usually just to be nice and get us excited for the event.
Sorority chapters would serenade occasionally just as a fun gesture. It wasn't something that the entire chapters had to participate in. It was more like "hey we were planning on serenading XYZ, meet us at this time if you want to participate."
