Thank you. It's one of my pet peeves. I HATE it when I hear people, especially undergrads, refer to a chapter as a house.
Our NM manuals state that "you belong to a sorority and a chapter, not a house."
With that said, the only people I've heard call it that are older alumnae who pledged in the 80s when "house" was the common term (at least here it was). Most of the younger girls I know use the term chapter.
