Most NPHC organizations are not interested in existing at UMES. There are issues which predate you that suggest that it isn't a viable location. It's not personal. Unless you see fliers advertising a rush, I would put my energy into graduating with a strong GPA and participating in things which you can only do in college. Once you graduate, you can begin your pursuit into an alumnae chapter.

My guess is that *eventually* some level of Greek Life will return. The GLO that had the most significant incident at UMES in the last 20 years is back as of 2008. However, what they apparently did was leave the charter of the chapter that had the incident inactive and granted a second new charter to the school.

That's a rather significant decision on the part of the National. The only reason that I can think that it would really make sense is if there is *no* trust of the alumni of the chapter in the local area.

Eh, this isn't necessarily true.

Well it is true that it is "the only reason that I can think of".

But you are right that it may not be the actual reason for the new charter.

In regards to this situation, I'd love to be proven wrong, or even to have another reason presented that makes sense to me.
