Assuming this is still relevant, I have a new guess... FIVE
I just watched the pilot episode again. Jack had a 5 tattooed on his arm. I paid special attention to him because he is going to be Jacob's replacement (assuming nothing changes in the finale).
As Kate was stitching him up on the beach, she said that he doesn't seem scared at all. Jack then launched into a story about a surgery he did on a 16-year-old girl where he accidentally cut the base of her spine where all the nerves come together. He said he let the fear in and let it take over, but only for five seconds. And he started to count.. One, two, three, four, five, and then it was gone. He sewed her up and she was fine.
Later, Kate is running from the smoke monster, and doesn't realize that Jack went back to help Charlie who had fallen. She was alone and could still hear the smoke monster, and she, while crying, counted to five.
Just a guess ... as is everything with this show!

I loved the ending. But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I'm still LOST. lol
From what I've read online so far, there are very mixed reviews from fans.

Consider me still LOST. I get the ending, but it leaves so much left unknown.

SAME! I'm still effing LOST!!!! lol...
Where were Walt and Michael? What about Alex? Was Miles in the church?
What about Jacks son? Was Locke right? He really didn't have one?
So does that mean those who were on the island and leaving the island at the end were still alive? Rose and Bernard? Hurley and Ben? Desmond? The people on the plane? Does that mean they all died at a later date? The church was just a meeting place, a Rainbow Bridge for people? So they lived seemingly entire lives in the "flashsideways" before realizing... oh, huh, shit, I guess I'm dead! WTF is the point of showing healthy babies in Claire and Sun's case? Baby Aaron at the end was dead too? Is everything in the flashsideways and at the chursh just form Jacks perspective... so he sees people as he remembers them, that's why Aaron is still a baby?
DAMNIT!!!!!!! I'M STILL EFFING LOST!!!!!!!!!!!

Well me and one of my friends kind of predicted this whole 'heaven, hell or purgatory' thing about 4 years ago. It was just too much weirdness for it to e otherwise. I liked the ending but still kinda pissed that this show sucked a 1/2 decade of my life to tell me this.
I think the reason why some people from past seasons didn't show up was because they weren't tightly knit with the core characters or they had others to go to in their own little slice of the afterlife.
I do kind of wonder why Linus is staying behind.

I really liked the last episode and was satisfied with it. I realllllllly wish they could have squeezed Walt in there, though.

so were the flashsideways the only purgatory? did they all really die on the plane? or did all that really happen, and those who were alive at the end of the island story (sawyer, kate, miles, lapidus, claire, etc) continue to live their lives and die old, fat and happy?
i said from the beginning, if they're all dead... Ima be PISSED. I'm waiting for Kimmel.
