I know you L&O addicts are with me on this one. Ever turn on the tv, happen to see a certain type of scene, for instance, someone being arrested for murder. And then you just know that the time must be about half-past the hour? Or a suspect gives chase and the 2 detectives go off in separate directions in order to get him, and you know it must be about 20 after? The following article made me laugh, because I was nodding along with everything they describe.

That's pretty accurate with one or two variations on the theme. What I love to do is tell you the whole episode based on what happens before the opening credits.
