Oh no, we had skits and songs and decorations too. They just weren't quite as elaborate. But it's just like pledging - instead of cutting parts out or cutting down, they want to eliminate it entirely cause people are too friggin' lazy to monitor things.

I agree that the philanthropy crafts are the biggest waste ever and girls would learn a lot more about philanthropy (in its truest sense) by all getting together on bid day and working at a soup kitchen or for Habitat For Humanity or something.
