is it just me, or do earthquakes seem to be getting longer and longer?

i've lived in so cal for 15 years and in 87 they seemed so quick. But since the 89 SF one -- which I felt sitting on the floor of my room in the USC Chi O house (felt like a 5.0 ish one down here) -- and esp since the 94 Northridge quake, they've been loooong, even the small ones.

My first quake was the 87 whittier narrows one.

I will take an EQ over winter, hurricane, tornado, etc any day, but I still don't like em!!!

Hang in there San Franciscans! You inhabit my favorite city in the world!
