[QUOTE=jennyj87;1919004]Okay so maybe its because I"ve missed glee and have made it more in my head, but does it feel, different to anyone? idk how to describe it. Maybe the episodes seem rushed, or like, theres more music (not that I don't love music) than there is talking. I don't feel like there was as much music in the earlier episodes. Idk.
I definitely am getting that feeling too. There's way more singing, although I'm pretty sure that this being Madge's episode upped the song count. Great episode though!
I don't know how I feel about this Santana/Finn deal. I loved Finn last season/half-season, I'm not so sure about him anymore

I've read interviews with the producers and they said that they were putting more music into the show in response to tremendous viewer feedback.
If you have ever done musical theater (or are a fan), you'll realize that this show operates the same way (more so now, with having more music). Musicals tell the story through song (and dance). It replaces dialogue. Glee does that - when a character has a feeling or there is an emotional interaction, BAM! they break out in song.

That's why I found it so funny when Jesse said to Rachel through the door, "Come out so we can talk about it, OR sing about it." Kind of poked fun at the genre.
How funny was, "When I pulled my hamstring, I went to a misogynist."

I am only a casual Glee fan- the husband is the one who watches every week!- however I was captivated by last night's episode. Madonna was my childhood, with Borderline being released during my 6th grade year, and most of her huge selling albums being released during junior high and high school. Interestingly, the lead (Rachel?) has a better voice than Madonna does, so it was great hearing her versions. I felt like such a dork wanting to get up off the couch and dance the whole night.
Other moments that I loved: the background Madonna's (from many of her videos) while the main characters were singing in the hallways, Sue's "Vogue" and of course the pamphlets on Emma's desk. Good stuff. Mostly though, I just loved the music.
Never has a TV show been so much fun! One of the most entertaining hours of television I have ever watched.

Yes, they're trying to cram way too much into one episode, and yet the characters aren't being developed at all. The last two episodes have been all about Rachel, Finn, Mr Shu, Redhead and Sue. And the new kid from the other glee club. I miss the STORY, the well-written dialogue between songs that wasn't just a one-liner. Forgive the analogy, but it feels like the formula of a porn...a few minutes of action with a few seconds of awkward, meaningless dialogue thrown in as a transition.
The hair jokes are also way out of left field. They're funny, but why is Sue making so many jokes about Will's hair all of a sudden?

Believe me I understand how musicals 'work'. What I'm saying is that the first 12 episode structure is different than these back 9 have been.

I totally LOLed about that. Also laughed about the preview where Brittany thinks her cat has been reading her diary!

Oh, she's been doing that for a while! I like his curly hair, though!

My husband doesn't get Glee. He thinks it's weird that I am in my 30s and watching a show about high school kids.
I told him it is kind of like eating a Whatchamacallit Candy Bar- yummy and wen you finish you want more, but it doesn't really have any nutritional value- but that's what you need sometimes.
Glee is fun and campy and at the end of the hour I always want more, but it's not the news or The Great Gatsby or anything. But not everything has to be!

As soon as she said it, I was ready to quote it on greekchat! HILARIOUS!

OK, for those of us who thought Glee has been feeling a little "different" since coming back from hiatus, I'm curious what you thought about tonight's episode. I thought tonight's show was superb, one of the best they've done. The singing was so beautiful!
It made me realize that I think there's just too much Rachel in most episodes. Not just too much Rachel, but too much neurotic Rachel. It was nice to have a break from the whole Rachel-Finn storyline.
I also like that next week it looks like Emma calls Will a "slut!" They certainly have been throwing the women at him lately...a little unbelievable if you ask me.

I had never had an interest in Glee before. Last night, I had a guest over who asked if she could watch Glee, at least a little bit of it. It was the scene where the plastic has-been woman shows up at the home of the coach and then they start singing a medley of a song I don't know and "A House is Not a Home."
I liked it.
Might not make it a religious habit, and I will still watch Lost instead, but once Lost is off, I could get into it.

LOVED that line. Kurt's expressions are priceless.
I actually loved the interaction between Mercedes and Quinn. That scene could have come across so contrived, but it seemed very organic. Kudos to the writers and actors.
I did miss the usual group numbers. I love Kristin Chenoweth, and I really enjoy hearing the Mr. Shu singing, but the club barely had any "sing" time.
