Not really...West Virginia was formed when citizens in that part of the state didnt want to secede from the Union with the rest of the Confederacy in the 1860's...just full of tidbits today

I had a debate one time with Billy O about this one time. I will never see Virginia as the south or DC as a 'southen city'. I live in San Antonio. Look on a map. about 97% of the United States is north of me. I am 6 degress north of the tropic of cancer. I am damn near in the tropics. If I have to drive 20 hours to the northeast to get there,
it's not the south. I prefer to call it the "historical south"
