It was "against her nature" to harm anything, not her religion (slightly different).

Her black lipstick definitely was distracting, though. And holding her arms like that made her look like she was getting arrested....the whole movie.
It felt so unoriginal. I mean, there were some good points - I always enjoy Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway (even with the "arrested" arms). But the whole "rallying a leader to destroy the bad" felt so done and with Absolem being the voice of Snape, it felt very HP. Alice saying goodbye to the Mad Hatter felt like Dorothy parting with the Scarecrow. Alice looking out from the White Queen's terrace looked like the Pevensie's marveling at the beauty of Narnia. Just everything about the movie reminded me of a scene from something else.
