Either you don't read well or you don't comprehend what you have read well. Either way, you keep making a jackass out of yourself and if that is what you DESIRE to be, well then, Godspeed to you too!

AGAIN--as far as making an ASSUMPTION about why I lost my job, that's again, your ASSUMPTION! For a lawyer, you don't seem to be able to comprehend what I have stated to you.

It's not about staying on the dole indefinetly, it is about trying to find a job in an economy where 1 job is posted and 300 applicants apply. If you can't do the math on this one, then I cannot help you.

Instead of trying to put me down and pacify me for being on unemployment, try switching places with me and see how being on the "dole" does for you. See how being on the "dole" doesn't leave me room to be able to opt for health insurance. See how being on the "dole" doesn't allow me room to shop for wants at Wal-Mart and see how being on the "dole" leaves me looking up to buying Pay-Less Shoes. Try switching places with me and see how you like being on the "dole" because, hey you like being unemployed and, according to you, it's not your fault. Why don't you try living on the "dole" with you JD degree and having bills.

Try to see how you like to rob Peter to pay Paul to steal from Matthew to borrow from Andrew to steal it back from Thaddeaus to end up having to borrow from Peter to begin with all the while getting stabbed in your ass by Judas. Try to see how you like it and determine if this is something that isn't your fault and how you really like it.

To say something like this to ANYONE shoes the fact that you have a lack of compassion and humility. Because these are two qualities that you lack, it shows that your scope of reality and your ability to work with people would NEVER fit in with my profession. I'm sorry, you'd never make it within what I have had to put up with in my line of work.

As far as making a compromise, hell, people do on a daily basis. The have to look at do they give up COBRA in order to feed their children. They have to look at do they put that last $5 in their gas tank or use the bus. They have to look at do they grow a garden or do they use the money to buy seeds with to purchase a few groceries. People on a daily basis look at what compromises they have to make. They make a decision based on where they are, what are their responsibilities, what skills they have, and where they are trying to get to. Me, hell, I'm just trying to get to next week. I'm just trying to get another job interview. I'm just surviving on my faith.

Then you try and downgrade the unemployed further by trying to covertly indicate that if a person isn't working hard enough to find a job then they are worthy of work. When was the last time you had a job interview. From what I understand, you got your job through nepotism, doesn't sound like much of an interview you had to go through. However, look at who you knocked out in order for your father to get you YOUR job. Look at who you knocked out that was a) better than you, b) had more experience than you, and c) could demand more money than you but was willing to take less in order to have a job.

I can honestly say the last time I had a job interview was the middle of fucking February and prior to that it was in December. How would that make you feel if you have the freaking skills and cannot even get a damn interview at Wal-Mart, which is less than 15 miles from where you live. Does this mean that I haven't tried to find a job, WRONG!!!! I have tried and tried, but I cannot COERCE somebody into handing me a job, it just can't be done without me having the need of a lawyer myself.

I don't have the time to continue to battle with an inarticulate person that cannot begin to fathom reality. If you make this conscious choice, then, that's on you. But from what I can see, you have no conscious and you are making a CHOICE to remain obvilious to reality and if this is something that you desire, fine, but don't try to shit on me and tell me that it's just a little hail.

I send out resumes everyday. I don't have money to take extra classes. I know I'm not getting called for interviews because I am applying for jobs that I am overqualified for, because the jobs in my degree field want people with 5+ years of experience and how the hell am I going to get that? How is this MY fault?

I sure hope so, Kevin, but you can't always anticipate the curve balls life will throw at you. Your dad's law firm could get hit with a major malpractice suit and go bankrupt. I've seen it happen. Or maybe you lose your license to practice law for some reason. In a situation like that, I would hope you'd take your own advice and start washing windows or mowing lawns. Maybe then you'd see that the unemployment situation isn't all that cut and dry.
Or a tornado hits his dad's practice, destroying all their paperwork and files and everything in it. And the same tornado hits their house, destroying everything in it. I just hope they survive. 1- Because I don't wish ill health on anyone. 2- So that maybe they'd have to collect.

As an employee of the largest health care system in Michigan, we have had layoffs, reductions in vacation time, benefits and retirement matching. There have been several articles that have indicated that the nursing shortage is over. We get an average of 500 applicants for each single job posted. It's to the point that external postings are only put up for one day because HR can't handle the volume of resumes that come in if it's up there longer. We are only able to directly replace. New positions are only approved if they are 100% funded by soft (grant) money. I will attest that health care is not all wine and roses right now either.

The max unemployment benefit is $1400 a month. That's about $8.00 an hour. People with higher degrees who were making significantly more money are NOT satisfied living with that income.

There are many services that our taxes pay for that we, as individuals, may never use. I, for example, don't ever expect to need a public defender since I'm never going to break the law (although I could be wrongly accused, I imagine). There are other services we, as individuals, may utilize more than someone else. It's a wash in the end.

Ford Motor Credit just announced 900 more white collar layoffs. Ugh.
Lol well if it's where I'm thinking, then I'm glad you support my business, because I sure as hell support yours every month! lol Do you like martinis? If so let me know and I'll let you in on a little special event.

I also wanted to add, THANK YOU to those who are defending the unemployed. It sucks waking up every morning, knowing your friends are going to work and getting paychecks every week, and you're worried if they're not going to renew your unemployment. I've spent all day in panic attack mode because mine expired and I was thinking of how I was going to pay my upcoming bills. There are days when I don't even want to get out of bed because I'm so depressed that I worked hard throughout college and i feel like I'm going nowhere. I'm 29, stuck with my parents, not knowing what will happen tomorrow. I've worked since I was 16. This is the longest I've gone without a job and it SUCKS. This is NOT something I want... unless I marry a rich guy and get to be a housewife with kids! Lol but really... I want a job. I want something to wake up to in the morning- something to look forward to. Kevin you have no idea the worthless feelings some of us have, and it's people like you who make us feel that way. If that's what it takes to make you feel better about yourself, then go for it. We all know what kind of piece of shit you are. Obviously that tornado didn't hit your area since you've been posting. How unfortunate.

its to the point where i scan the qualifications/requirements before i read the description. i got tired of reading the description first and thinking "oh i can totally do that" and then see that they're asking for 3+ yrs or more. wtf!
