I wonder does UT still have the "free junior" thing? Where the number of juniors doesn't count into the quota

There have been rumors that they might be using some sort of "upperclassman quota" but I don't know.

Also, just because a chapter has the option to take sophs and juniors, does mean they will do so.

After reading what everyone else has written about UT, you can come to the conclusion that as a junior, recs are a necessity, have a very high gpa, know sorority women, be involved, etc.

You are fighting against freshmen and even sophomores, so your chances of getting into a "top chapter" or the ones that you've done researched on and "like" are probably slim to none. Why would they pick you up over a freshmen or a sophomore? Even though you have friends in sororities at UT, that could help, but the people who you talk to recruitment may or may not like you. So it's a possiblility you may get cut from your friend's house as well.

Let me just say that even though you have done "research" on these sororities, you are liking them based on what you see on the outside. Give all sororities a fair chance during recruitment, feelings will change.
