I wasn't referring to last season. Russell keeps telling the cameras that he is running the tribe, not Boston Rob. I want to see his expression when he finds out that the others are not letting him be the king.
I do like that they were laughing off that the machete grew feet and disappeared. As long as his tribe can't build better shelter, open coconuts, or easily kill the chickens they find, he too is going to be suffering. I know he pulled this last time, but I personally don't see the advantage of him hurting his teammates.

Exactly. If he wants to do this, fine, but to me, the timing is all off. Why not keep your tribe strong now, and then after a merge, when people are on their own, start messing with their stuff? He screws himself over by doing all of this now.

AlphaFrog- I'd love to see Amanda pull that off! I like her and that would be fun to watch.
I'm glad Randy went home. I didn't like him on his season or this one. He didn't really stand out this time, but I'm perfectly happy not to see him around. I'm glad Parvati stayed because she is more enjoyable to watch scheme.
I loved when the heroes blasted the villains! There were a couple of matchups that I thought would go to the villains, but apparently not. Like Parvati vs. Candace- Parvati is (was?) a boxer, so she's used to the 1:1 head to head physical action. James was an obvious choice to win against anyone, although the way he just pushed and the villain flew off the platform was hillarious. If nothing else, I'm glad they won to help keep the tribes relatively even and not let one get totally demoralized. That's fun at first but gets old really fast.
Maybe voting Steph off really was their cure to losing?

We've been going back and forth a bit about whether anyone this season knew about Russell- according to Parvati in this interview, they really didn't:
Interestingly, Russell Hantz, the consummate villain from season 19, was an unknown quantity to the other 19 contestants when he showed up because nobody had seen the new season yet. “I thought he was a staff member at first,” Parvati said. She said she thinks the very fact he was an unknown was a “huge advantage, especially watching his season now. People once they got there were already pointing out threats. We had no idea who he was.”

Oh God that was funny. On a related note, what's up with the only one challenge? kind of lame to me.

I was thinking the same thing. It's basically "all-or-nothing" this season. You win, you get food/comfort items and immunity. You lose, and that's that.
I wonder if they're attempting to show more of the happenings of camp. Maybe they think it will be more interesting with the groups of people they have? I don't know.

I had totally misunderstood what you were talking about... now I get it! I agree - it'll be interesting to see his reaction when reality hits.
The challenge was fun to watch. It solidified my recently discovered dislike for James, though. And, to echo Vito, I'm not a big fan of having only one challenge.
I'm sure I'll watch this whole season, but for some reason, the last two episodes have left me feeling kinda... meh.

Is it just me, or are the Heroes and Villains switching places?

No kidding! Of course, that's probably exactly what the producers had in mind.
I think they made a big move too fast last night. It's just going to show the other team just exactly how divided they are.

Yeah, I think Cirie was definitely a threat, and it was smart of them to want to eliminate that threat. But, I'm not sure this was the best time for JT to switch. Now, he's on the outs with Colby and Tom, outnumbered by Amanda, Candace, James and Rupert. Cirie was definitely blindsided last night. As were the 4 who didn't vote for her.
I really like Cirie; she's a good player. I'm glad she's the one who went home, though. I say this only because her strategy was to keep the players she could beat, voting off the stronger ones first. That strategy, while good for her game play, always resulted in some of my favorite players going home.

Cirie isn't just a big threat strategically, she's useless in challenges too. I couldn't stand her on her first season and I still can't stand her. She tries to boss everybody around, gets on a high horse and tries to direct everybody even though she has no real skills that are helpful to the tribe.
I'm so glad Colby didn't go yet. He is my all time favorite Survivor ever. If they could actually win some challenges, they could wait it out til the merge and not have to get rid of too many more people.
