I have heard through the grape line a ton of them are because apparently they increased the quotas for all the sororities and that's why we have to register for recruitment this time around unlike in the past because they understand there will be a higher volume. Also, from what I have heard, the sororities are having a hard time getting dates because they are trying not to have too much overlap because so many sororities are doing the informal recruitment this year and will be able to accept more girls then in the past.
Now I am not, obviously, a part of panhell and therefore don't know the inner workings but this is what I have picked up from friends in greek life.

It is total that would have been increased. Quota is never set or established until the amount of women going through recruitment is determined after several rounds.
They are minus one sorority now, but I don't think they want to add another one, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Haha sorry I'm not greek obviously so I don't know the exact terminology but I heard stuff about the total being increased before tri-delta was gone.

Huh, that's weird. But good!! Raising total means the majority of the chapters are healthy.
