Hi everyone,
I don't (unfortunately) know when the groups are coming to present yet. Alpha Xi Delta is supposed to be coming in mid-May at some point, and Mariko is supposed to be getting in touch with Tri Sigma also. Everything is still sorta up in the air, which drives me crazy, but we'll work it out! Our new member period is really hard for us right now. We have no idea what we're doing! We want our pledges (or whatever the PC term is, I can never remember!) to learn about the history and ideals of NBO, but the thing is, our history is so short and our ideals so basic and clear that we're pretty much at a loss for what to do with them. Add to this the danger of anything being hazing, and we're basically just overwhelmed! We're taking it day by day, which is I'm sure the best way to approach it, but as for right now it's a bit of a struggle. I haven't yet learned how to balance school, work, sorority, friends, family, and a personal life yet. I'm really trying to learn, but sometimes it's just so hard! I know this is all a part of becoming an adult, but at times I am so frustrated and overwhelmed. But NBO is hanging in there. We've had some confusion about one of our pledges- we've actually just had a HUGE problem with miscommunication, as usual, so we're all a little out of sorts and not on the same page. I think we only have two pledges now- but we really need to talk to the third one and clarify what's going on. It's all very mixed up. But as soon as I know anything else I'll be sure to let you all know what's going on! Apparently there are some pikes on campus now, who are working to be an official chapter, and TKE and SAE are also interested in colonizing here. So many fraternities! I'm just wishing (and hoping, lol, I'm SUCH a dork) that things click with AZD. Obviously I hope that they are interested in us, but what would it even matter if we didn't feel a connection with them? Things will work out like they're supposed to. How many times have I typed that phrase on this website? Anyway, more later, as soon as anything of interest develops. As usual, any comments, questions, advice, etc, are appreciated!
