Wow, I know this is an old thread...and it's been over seven years since we came into Omega, but as the Ace of that line...I will say that SOME of us went through a process, but all of us were read in together.
The one thing I love about my Fraternity is that no matter how you may come in...time will tell where your heart is. In my humble opinion, Omega Psi Phi is the most challenging organization to be a part of b/c the true initiation begins once you enter the fold...and the weak will not tarry.
I hope that we as Colored folk start focusing on the things that really matter...and not whether or not someone actually pledged a damn fraternity!!
I'm not coming to anyone's defense, but I would like to challenge how we as Blacks place our priorities on what is truly important.
We are losing Black men by the minute (to the streets, prisons...dropping out of the educational system). Black men are constantly being emasculated by society as well as within their own race. We have started to attach their identity to foolishness...and it is almost expected for them to perpetuate the stereotypes...however, there are so many other intrinsic things that define a Black man.
Bro. Joyner's comments were juvenile and lacked caution and discernment...hence the reason why Omega's business is constantly on discussion boards...or in gossip sessions.
I recognize Vince and Shaq as Omega Men...and if there are any questions or concerns, perhaps one should sit down and speak with them...man-to-man.
Anyway, have a Merry Christmas Everyone...

Translation:
Vince didn't have a process like some of us did. But, ignore that information that I volunteered for the general public in an old thread. How you came in doesn't matter although I prefaced my post with how I came in versus how Vince came in. But, it doesn't matter. I promise. We're all bonded despite the fact that years later I still preface my discussion of my "LB" with the "SOME of us pledged" disclaimer. Tom Joyner's comments were juvenile and lacked caution and discernment but mine certainly don't. I didn't help to put Omega business on discussion boards and gossip sessions. This old and dormant thread really needed me to speak on something that no one cares about. I rep for mineS, homie.
