Usually, Survivor starts in February and September, so probably February.
If that's really the theme, you know Russell already has his ticket there.

Potential spoiler, avert your eyes if needed...
Based on the leaked cast lists, he's on there. They claim to be the final lists, but who really knows until CBS publishes it. But when you are pushing someone as the biggest villain yet- not to mention giving him the bulk of the air time- I don't see how they could leave him off a heroes vs. villains season. They stayed in the same location for filming and did them essentially back to back, so I don't know if he even got to go home first. Then I suppose he doesn't know who won his season yet, since the finale is "live"? Hmm... interesting.
I find it amusing that Richard Hatch couldn't participate in Heroes vs. Villains because he was on house arrest. Pay your taxes next time, and maybe you can try for another big paycheck in the primetime
And back to your regularly scheduled Survivor: Samoa broadcast.
It looks like there are 8 (EIGHT!!) left: Dave, Brett, Monica, and Shambo from Galu & Russel, Natalie, Mick, and Jaison from Foa Foa. 1 hour episode Thursday, 2 hours on Sunday (plus reunion). If there are two tribal councils this week as announced, that means 6 going to Sunday's episode and needing to get rid of 3 for a F3. A lot of votes are coming up.
I think I liked the old style better, with 16 castaways and a F2. You get to know people better and it's more suspenseful with 2. Usually you can easily rule out one of the F3, so they might as well have a F2.

Has anyone watched the insider videos from Ponderosa. John's arrogance is amazing.

Oops. I meant to say 6... they'll have to get rid of 6 in just 2 episodes (unless there's an F3)

Yes, he does seem like such an ass, the way he talks down to the women is pretty insulting. Laura can barely stand to be around him.
I've watched the other Ponderosa's from this season and from the old ones, and this one seems the most uncomfortable, with recriminations, accusations, demands for explanations, etc. It seemed in other years, that once people got to Ponderosa, they let the game go and just enjoyed the field trips and food! This season, it's all, "why did you vote me off?" Hey, it's a game, and they did what they thought they had to do to stay in the game, it may have been a mistake, but it's done and over. You're all in the same boat now - ejected!!!

It's making me wonder if they lose someone due to an injury or something again. That seems like an awful lot of votes in a very short amount of time.

I went to make sure that Survivor would record this coming Sunday, but I'm not finding it anywhere. I don't think the finale is the 13th...
ETA: CBS.com is saying that there is still another episode on December 17th, with the finale on the 20th. Just to clear things up!

That's what I get for getting my info from Wiki.
I'm better with that anyway. What's the fun in going into finale week when there are so many endless possibilities, it's impossible to guess what is going to happen (barring factors like Susie winning an immunity challenge at the last minute like last season)?
I'm actually excited to see Russell when he's with other people like him who don't care about "hurting people's feelings" and etc. I think it's easier for him because he doesn't really need the money, so he's not emotionally invested like that. I hope if he wins, he gives the money to charity or something - because I really don't think outside the game that he's that bad of a guy (just based on when he lets his guard down and stops playing the game for brief minutes) - I think it's all an act.
Who else do you think we'll see on Heroes vs. Villains?
Heroes
Mick or Natalie - if one of them has a strong finish
Todd from China (and maybe Spenser if they're still dating - that could be entertaining)
JT & maybe what's his face that came in 2nd (but obviously JT!!!)
Ozzy?? & Amanda?? (& maybe Parvati & James)
Cirie
Colby from Australia
Ethan from Africa
Bob & maybe Sugar
That one younger kid that did Parkour (China)
Villains
Russell!!
Sue Hawk and/or Kelly
Coach
Johnny Fairplay (just to annoy Jeff)
Maybe they'd put Todd here - even though I didn't think he was ever "villainous" - just good at the game.
I don't know - it's hard for me to really call someone a villain when it's a game.
There were about 10 seasons between Africa and China that I didn't watch, so I can't pick anyone out of there - and they're obviously going ALL the way back.
ETA: How could I have forgotten Coach?

I wonder if Stephanie or Rupert would do it again. Both have done two seasons already. But Colby has too, hasn't he?

Why can I just not be excited at all about this season? Even when it's on, I find myself paying attention to other things and I ended up rewinding it and watching parts over because I realized I didn't know what was going on. I don't even feel like I know half the cast and there's only a week to go. <yawn>

^^^ Several of my friends feel the same way, and they think I'm crazy for enjoying this season. They think the producers took a crappy season and edited it into something watchable - Survivor: Russellville - and that those of us who are falling for it are just being manipulated. But, I work with cynics, skeptics, and conspiracy theorists, so I'm used to manipulation-talk.
Generally, when it gets down to the final 6, I have an idea of who I'd like to see win (or at least, who I absolutely would NOT like to see win). This season, not so much. Honestly, I don't know who I'd like to see get the $1M. Likewise, I don't know that there's anyone who I wouldn't want to see win the $$ (except maybe Shambo, but, even then I could be persuaded).
I'm not sure how I'm finding this season so interesting when there isn't anyone I'm particularly rooting for (or against).

I'm glad that Monica got the boot. She really came off badly at tribal last night IMO. She almost was finger wagging, which for her, was not a good look - go eat something at Ponderosa.
At this point, I really don't care who wins either, I think Russel's days are numbered, and I like Mick, Jaison, Natalie, and Brett, so any of them would be great! Shambo would be a good person to bring to the end because she is SOOO clueless (seemingly) that I don't think she'd get the votes.
Are there just two more episodes now? Next Thurs, and Sun?

I guess I hadn't really thought about it that way. I think what's made this season so exciting are the blindsides, and the underdog pulling through.
But now we're down to the last 6. Russell has been the main focus, but I would love for any member of Foa Foa to win. I saw Galu as the enemy the second that Yasmin girl went crazy. They alienated Shambo, they basked in the sun, and they seemed useless (yet surprisingly smug and sure of themselves). I give Foa Foa a lot of credit for coming back from being down 8-4.

I thought the exact same thing. And when Russell was talking about how well he played the game and came back from being down, and Monica said, "You mean you used immunity idols," and Russell replied, "Yea, that's playing the game..." I kind of wanted to give him a high-five. She was probably just jealous because she couldn't find any of them to save her a** last night.
Since I'm rooting for the underdog, I would LOVE if Natalie somehow came away with the million dollars. Just because
