What kind of file is the pre-made logo you're using? Rasterized text problems can usually be solved by doing the logo itself in Illustrator and saving as a .JPG. You'll be able to open it in Photoshop after that, if you need to, but the text and bar you did in Illustrator will be part of the image

THANK! YOU!!!!!!! I believe this is exactly what the problem is -- the original logo is a GIF.
