They might have been able to if they hadn't kept going back and forth. They tried thirty times to ring the bell at the dance place. I don't know why, when they found the golf hard, they thought that after swinging those heavy clubs and swimming back across canal, they'd have a better chance of ringing that bell. All they did was tire themselves out more. I can't help but wonder if they'd still be in it if they'd stuck with the golf the first time.
