Pacific Timer here-- Did I miss something? The one couple did the bell counting together. Thought it was suppose to be only one person? Were they penalized at all?

Maybe I missed it, but weren't they from two different teams?

Yes, they were on two different teams. They just decided to count them together and get out of there faster.

I also noticed the Pi Kappa Phi shirt.

I was surprised with the poker players. I figured they could have completed at least one of the tasks.

And watching everyone riding the bikes in those outfits had me

It was two different teams -- it was the blonde chick who was bad at golfing and one of the gay brothers.

Thanks. As I said, I missed something. Comes from reading The Lost Symbol while watching the show.

And didn't we all think "Greek Chat!" when we saw that?

They might have been able to if they hadn't kept going back and forth. They tried thirty times to ring the bell at the dance place. I don't know why, when they found the golf hard, they thought that after swinging those heavy clubs and swimming back across canal, they'd have a better chance of ringing that bell. All they did was tire themselves out more. I can't help but wonder if they'd still be in it if they'd stuck with the golf the first time.

Meawhile, best line of the night: "If we don't know anyone else's name, we know Bryan, Bryan, Bryan." I was so ready for Bryan and Erika to go -- aside from her constant whining, I have little patience with people who don't read the clues.

seriously! i onl started watching this season 3 episodes ago, but Erika was SO annoying. and i think they did have hard times following directions. Why did Erika have such a hard time counting the bells when it seemed like everyone else was spot on? Bryan shouldve went up on the account of her whining.

As for the poker players - i didnt know you could forfeit your race! and im really surprised it was them, and at that point in the race. and the Globetrotters - hilarious!

Thanks for mentioning that, because I meant to.

They did seem to quit, didn't they? Rather than have Phil (like he has at least once or twice before) come to them to tell them they've been eliminated and to save them from continuing on fruitlessly, it seemed like he came to them because they said "we're done." He never did the I'm sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race spiel.

But what if it was a non-elimination leg? You know you're in last place anyway, so sit down and rest for 15 minutes, then try again, hoping that it's non-elimination and that you can deal with the penalty next leg after the "mandatory pit stop." Sheesh.

The fact that you have this attitude really makes me want to turn TAR on someday and see you and nittanyalum showing the other teams how it's done.

im seriously waiting for a GC team to go on TAR. we could have GC meetups and watch together, and all sorts of stuff. and the GCers would always have to wear letters. but then we'd expect to find them, and couldnt post about it in said thread.

Did y'all see this?

What do you think? I agree that it was a bummer that physically, they weren't able to finish the task, but that one girl was so close to the top many times, maybe if they'd just stuck to that, they could have finished.

This. Or maybe if they'd said "that looks too hard, so we should do the golf" they could have finished. Barbie . . . I mean Meghan . . . did the golf.

Sorry, but the "it was physically unfair" attitude gets no sympathy from me. That's the way the race works -- some things are going to play to your strengths (no pun intended), some aren't. You deal with it.

The problem wasn't that the task was physically unfair. The poker girls had choices to make. The chose poorly. That's why they're out of the race.

I'm thrilled to see that one of the Race's most notorious challenges is back next week! At least it looks like they gave them gloves this time.

Me too, they get the Whaah! award, complaining post-show. They should have picked a task and stuck with it. I will say that they sure looked like miserable drowned rats at that golf thing!

I wish Erica and Bryan had gotten the boot - a) she is incompetent, the other teams didn't seem to have problems with counting the bells, b) he is incompetent, READ THE CLUE - it clearly said to ride bikes, c) she is a whiny, bitchy person! I was about to turn off the tv listening to her moan and complain while they were WALKING (see b), he was uncomfortable too, yet she had the nerve to say, "have some compassion" to him. UGGH I really dislike the character that she's playing ()

I LOVE the Globetrotters more and more!! They were delightful to watch in the dancing and eating competition, and really seem to be having a ball!!

Looks like Barbie's going to have a meltdown in the hay field next week

This.

If you read the link, they were saying that the mallet was extremely heavy (40 pounds?). But the funny thing is, they were closer to hitting the top when they were nearing their 70th try.

I really don't think they were making the best attempt when they first started swinging that mallet.
