Yes it did and it looks like they're doing great!

Kappa did an Alice in Wonderland skit when I rushed--I still have my Cheshire Cat nametag in my old college scrapbook!

The Kappa mod knows the details--we could ask her--but I vaguely remember it all because my oldest was a member in the house next door to them during all of it. They closed it maybe 2005? and then reopened really quickly. Gorgeous, gorgeous house!

They were a relatively new chapter at Southern even then. I think they first came on campus in the mid 1990s. I think the details are on the recruitment results thread. It shows each chapters history on campus.

ETA: here's the info from that thread; I was off about when the originally colonized: Kappa Kappa Gamma Zeta Upsilon 1990-2005/2006

I thought the re-colonization was more recent than that.

Found it! According to irishpipes, they colonized in 1990 and closed in 2005, reopened in 2006. KKG permanent roll shows only that they were charted in 1990, so headquarters must have viewed it as a reorganization, not a full closing. If they had truly closed and recolonized, the perm roll would have the new date listed as well and the chapter would become Zeta Upsilon Deuteron. Interesting!
