LOL! You gals are a hoot! I'm lauging as you guys laugh at me! Ah! I love it! Atleast I wasn't drawn and quartered for asking some unknown taboo'd question! :-) I appreciate all of the well wishing as well, I need them all!

A couple of questions here...

What's an OP?

Two. I talk like this in real life, so someone help me make it less "funny" so I can maybe get my question answered? This is no spoof...me so serious :-\. I really do get that nervous....maybe....Bobby Brown in a Flour warehouse nervous....

AfroClassy, girl, you got moxie!!!

I'm a member of a D9 sorority (SGR) and the best advice that I can give you is that I really can not give any specific advice. No one can.

You see, each campus is different. You've got traditional HBCUs and PWIs and commuter campuses that are HBCUs and PWIs.

A very general rule of thumb is that at your more traditional campuses, they will rush in a more traditional way. At the commuter campuses, the rush process may not be as strict. That is not to say that getting in an org at one campus is easier than the other. It is just that each are two sides of the same coin.

My best advice, no matter the campus and org is to pursue the org. If they post flyers of an event, rush event or such, then particiapte. You want to get to know the members and vice versa, but don't be 'stalkerish' about it. If you know one or two members of that org, talk to them in person. Ask them in person. This can not be stressed enough!

So often people come on here wanting all sorts of answers, but really we can't answer them all. We don't know you, your campus, your situation and how the chapters there will handle your situation. So again, then best thing you can do for yourself is to discuss this with a member of the chapter you want to join.

Predominately White Institute, or a historically White School. For instance, in Texas that would be UT-Austin, Texas A&M, Univ. of Houston, Baylor (in Waco), Texas Tech. Where the student population is like ~80 % White, ~20% "other".
