To add to the smooshed-together-word-phenomenon list, also in the Star Spangled Banner- "dawnsearlynight". When I was smaller, i thought it was "donzerly light" and I never could understand why they put such a large and unknown word in a national anthem. I remember asking my mom what donzerly meant, and since she didnt know, no one possibly would. Ah to be little and sure that your parents are the smartest folks alive again.

To continue the hijack, I've got one too.
In my (Catholic) kindergarten, we learned a simple prayer before snacktime: "God is great, God is good, Let us thank Him for our food". After I learned it, I wanted to try it out at home before dinner. So before we started eating, I began with: "God is great, God is Good"...then reached into the salad bowl, picked up a leaf and said, "Lettuce thank Him for our food". My parents busted out laughing and then tried to explain to me that it was "Let us" and not "Lettuce"

Look for the Chuck Norris rush thread. It was pretty funny.
