I think people are easily forgetting that
he was asked by a reporter at the White House briefing what he thought about this situation.
Obama did not bring up this situation, the reporter did. When he answered he clearly stated that at that time he did not have all the facts, but based on what he was told / understood, then his assessment was that the cop acted stupidly. His comment about the cop was 'off the cuff'. It's been the media keeping this up.
I think the 'Beer Summit' was just his good natured way to mend the situation and try to move on, which some of you seem to be unable to do.
