He will keep learning that an opinionated PERSON isn't the exact same as an opinionated POTUS. I'm already tired of his need to cover his words when he could've shut up in the first place, just like others were tired of the supposed "rambling idiot" Presidents before him.

I think you missed what I was saying.
He made a statement that others would hear. We don't get in front of cameras but we are in front of our peers and we measure what we say TO our peers because we know the consequences of what saying the wrong things are.
This is not to dispute whether he was right or wrong in his statement or give him a pass but simply to show you, that he truly is like the next person that sometimes speaks too soon.
At work we just simply say that our boss is an asshole or our boss can't say that XYZ person working under him is lazy and inept out loud without expecting that possibly some kind of reprisal from those at whom the statements were directed at.
Same thing here. JUST like anyone else, Obama, made a statement.
Realized what he said and in front of whom he said it to and ran back to clean it up because he realized that if certain people heard what he said he would be JUDGED for it.
Just like some people would do.
if you have nothing nice to say, wait until you alone and say.
Or...and I have said this before (not my original quote BTW) about many of the wonderful statements and apologies that have fallen from the mouths of those that are exposed to the public who really should have thought before they misspoke.
"Don't say anything now that you know you will have to apologize for later."
