Besides being a MILF, what are her qualifications?

Look at Bush and Cheney. After they got out of the White House...lots of things came out about them. So I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of scandal surfaces about her.

It just seemed weird because this issue didn't seem to be about cover-ups and conspiracy theories.

I wouldn't say that lots of things came out about them. I think it would be more accurate to say that more information arose about things that the public was already aware of, or that the public had some inkling had occurred. Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't think there have been any surprise bombshells about either (except for maybe the talk about Cheney and pushing for assassinations).

Let's not forget about waterboarding. Isn't Cheney also in trouble for that?

Yeah, but that was known while he was still in office. I thought you were focusing on information that came out after leaving office.

I'm perplexed that she's polling so well, except for this: I think 42% of the American public at this point might vote for anyone running against Obama.
ETA: I don't think she'll have a chance in the primary. She might draw a decent percentage in a lot of states, but I can't see her really winning a single one. I honestly hope she doesn't run so I can salvage some of my appreciation of her.

I disagree. I honestly can't think of a single thing that came out after they left office that wasn't discussed before they left office. What are you talking about? You can find waterboarding articles going back years, I think, and certainly before the 2008 election.
Again, what are you talking about?

Not to mention that it wasn't covered up or involved in a conspiracy theory.
ETA: When did Andrew Sullivan start talking about waterboarding? I thought it was back when I was still reading him, which would make it a long time ago. EATA: well it looks like it was 2005/2006. I don't know if that's really that long, but it's way pre-leaving office for B and C.

You are incorrect, Wyoming is the least populated state. In the 2000 census Wyoming had 493,782 people in comparison to Alaska's 626,932 and Vermont was the next smallest at 608,827. The projections for 2010 show Alaska increasing by almost 70,000, Wyoming by 26,000, and Vermont by 44,000. North Dakota is projected to lose over 5,000 people, bumping Alaska up to fourth least populated.

Okay, so, slight hijack. But, the other day I was driving and I saw someone, a woman in honda suv, for what that matters, with a bumper sticker that said Palin 2012, with a moose for the party symbol with an American flag motif, like tacky political bumper stickers are wont to do.
I laughed. Uproariously. And then I thought: Wait! This might be serious.
So is it serious? Or is it a joke? I really can't decide.

I don't know if this was already posted:
Vanity Fair published an edited version of her resignation speech:
