I get the feeling that getting an education is not a high priority within that household.

I love how she gets all excited when they move out to live with the boy's mom and she says something like "I'm so happy we're going to finally be out on our own and be our own little family!"

Um, you're living with his MOM.

Also, how on Earth would you think that ONE of you working part-time is enough to even come CLOSE to getting you your own place? This just shows that they're kids and they don't function within the adult reality, lol.

I DO kind of see how she might be happy to move out of that house though, it wad pretty GROSS in there.

I mean, I can see how you'd get tired of sleeping on the COUCH with your baby.

This episode = birth control. It shows kids that YES you can get pregnant your first time, despite what your friends tell you.

I loved how nobody in that disaster of a trailer was working. Not even her pregnant mom's bf seemed to think work was important. The baby shower at the boxing gym was also pretty classy. Well, I'm off to play slots at the gas station...

This show is a hot mess, no, it's beyond a hot mess at this point. Is there a term for something worse than a hot mess that's not hot ass mess?
None of these girls are ready to be mothers. The only one that I saw who has a chance in hell of pulling her crap together was Maci...and her boyfriend is a loser. I pray for all of these children, mothers included. Adoption into a two parent reasonable household would have been a better choice for all of them.

I agree 100%! And these girls are not ready for more than just motherhood. They're not ready for adulthood!

Sometimes adoption is the wisest, most mature, and often the hardest decision. And there are so many happy couples out there who want children but have been unable to have their own and their hearts are full of love to give to a child.

Exactly! I swear, you should have to get a license to have children.

I know, right? I wonder how they even afford to live there with like, no one working in the house.

I also love how no one is working, but NO ONE CAN CLEAN! That house was SO DISGUSTING. No house should be THAT dirty with that many adults living in it.

I wouldn't even WANT to bring my baby home to such conditions.

HA. She totally didn't get the joke. It was probably one of those "Damn I hate all these people living here and will take any opportunity to express it" moments, though.

Agreed. My heart hurt when I watched Juno. I wished that I had been that mature in high school. Not that I was in that situation, but I certainly could have been, and if I had gotten pregnant in high school, I wish I would have been mature enough to do what she did.
/sidetrack

And another thing, there are all these unwanted babies popping out everywhere, but people don't want to allow gay couples to marry and have the ability to adopt children and have loving, stable families. It makes me so sad.

This last episode made me crazy. Too damn many people lived in the trailer, teen boyfriend worked p/t, momma's boyfriend MIGHT have worked (I saw a clip where it looked like he was getting out of a semi... I figured he was a trucker...), the house was a mess, the other grandma came to the rescue, blah blah blah...

Has anyone been to the website for this show? Do they have updates on these girls and the babies? I keep meaning to look, but I keep not doing it...

And the clip for the season finale seems to indicate that the teen couple might actually give the baby up for adoption. We'll see.

I haven't seen every episode, but I don't think what I've seen glorifies teen pregnancy. On the contrary, as someone who's worked in child welfare since 1996, I think this show does a decent job of showing that having a baby when you're a baby is no picnic.

I dont watch the show too much. I've only seen like 3 episodes. I couldnt believe the episode where the girl (Amber i think her name was) said she was so stupid for not using protection cuz the guy says he doesnt like condoms. Then the guy turns and says "I never said that". My jaw literally hit the floor. These fast @$$ little girls have no respect for their bodies these days.

One of my grown daughters alerted me to this show because oh crap, I think that this last girl (Whitney?) is a local. Here we have 4 colleges and 2 huge medical centers and aaaaah! They go out into the trailer parks waaay out in the county (her former school is very close to us but the district extends to the Alabama line) and find some fabulous kids like these.

Well, this area has some stellar programs for teen mothers but a dollar says that this girl won't look into them and in 16 years (maybe 14?), we'll be seeing a show with all 3 generations pregnant and living in the same ole trailer. I highly doubt she'd place the baby for adoption. I've taught in the region for too long to believe that; black, white, and Hispanic, they almost all keep their babies.
