yep 36 born, in '73. and I just thought he may have been estranged from his wife b/c the reports made it clear that the "female" found with him was his mistress, but from what I'm hearing the reports may have been how his wife learned of the affair. So sad...

She may be saying that to put on a brave public face. I have a feeling that she (his wife) probably knew about the affair, because I doubt this woman was his first mistress.

According to the reports I've read, his wife didn't know. I can't imagine what she's going through right now - finding out that her husband's dead, that he was found with a woman who was his mistress, and that his mistress may have been involved in his killing. How do you come back from something like that?
He traveled a lot around the country doing appearances after he retired - it may not have been all that difficult to conceal the affair. Or, his wife may have heard rumors and chosen to ignore them (because those rumors are all over the place about professional athletes).

^^^^ ehhh.....I still think that she is putting on a brave public face. Not to sound mean, but saying that she did not know about the affair gives her more sympathy. As a woman, you at least have an inkling that your man is stepping out on you. You may not want to admit it (to yourself and others), but in your heart you know.

True, esp if he had more than one, this was only going on a few months! But either way reporting that he was found dead with his girlfirend is just insensitive, I had to google him to find that he was married! WTH? At least if they had said 'found with a woman believed to have been his mistress', I'd have gotten the full picture. I've gotta stop getting my news from the yahoo homepage. LOL

lmao, what makes you say she had no money? they were married 12 yrs and having 2 kids with him (the other two were from a previous relationship) would get her a grip in Child support. Is TN a community prop. state?

not to mention its not like she wasnt working...she is a nurse I believe.
You know what else is troublesome, is three things:
1. Her last boyfriend...Keith Norfleet and his involvement in this.
2. (altho not surprising) 20 years of age with a DUI
3. Her entire mental state given her age and the men that she dealt with.
Also maybe it's just me, but I find it suspicious that she dated and lived with Norfleet for 4 years prior to this incident (thus my number 3) not to mention that McNair had just celebrated his 12th anniversary with his wife...? Hmmm
Death really does tend to bring out the ugly.

You can give it a big fancy word if you want to, but I just call it 'woman's intuition' (?sp).

You can give it a big fancy old wives' tale if you want to, but I call it lying to yourself.

She wasn't.
One of my mom's friends worked with this girl who they had to fire because she was always missing work to go hang out with him. The friend described her as a "very pretty young black woman." They didn't fire her because she was hanging out with him - they fired her because she was always missing work...I didn't want that sentence to be misinterpreted.
I'm very disappointed...I had the impression that he was a good guy
