HAHA. Maybe. My mom used to say it, and I always wanted to ask her how an STD was nice.
Oh and I also wonder what types of parents that boy had for allowing him to miss that much school.
Also, I know it's harder for the girl to get to school because of the baby, but I still don't think there's any excuse for that. I'm surprised her parents didn't insist that she find a sitter or something during the day so she could go.

Well, far be it for me to point this out, but if her parents allowed to her keep the child as opposed to giving it up for adoption or aborting, it doesn't seem like they are all that concerned about her education anyhow. I mean her parents didn't insist that she get on birth control....How can they as parents not realize that this is the worst case scenario?
This is why abstinence only sex ed is a total waste.

Yeah, I don't know about the abortion v. adoption thing, but I just wonder how they expect her to take care of her baby without a HS diploma or GED at least.
Oh, wait. She's probably just going to continue to live at home with Mommy and Daddy, while expecting Babydaddy to take care of them (I remember her saying something like "How are you going to take care of us if you can't graduate??').
Good luck with that.
Next week is going to be pretty interesting.
It looks like this girl AND HER MOM are pregnant at the same time. Girl and her babydaddy are living under the same roof with her prego mom and there appears to be lots of arguing. lol.

Why do you wonder, you couldn't tell by the episode? The mother was crazy!

Wow, so if a person keeps their baby as opposed to abortion, or adoption, then they automatically don't care about their education? Really? That's a really negative outlook you have.
Keeping your baby =/= not caring about your education. The actions AFTER having your baby dictate whether you truly care about your education.

I was so angry when Ebony's mom sat there in the counselor's office like "How's she going to do these two classes to graduate, she doesn't have time!"
WTF?
Yes, she messed up, but SHE is YOUR baby. YOU are still responsible for her. You need to make sure that you find a way for her to finish school! No matter what! She made it this far! You need to get a babysitter, you need to get a daycare, whatever you need to do to get her to walk and get a diploma. She can't come this far and fail at every single aspect of life!
That was so wrong. The boyfriend is borderline retarded. She needs to be able to depend on herself at the end of the day. And she can do that. She can still fulfill her dream of joining the Air Force, but only with GOOD support, not half-assed support. Note that Ebony's father was absent from the whole thing. So sad...

On the flipside of this: Alot of moms don't feel that it is THEIR responsbility to arrange sitters and things for their grandkids. They weren't the ones who got pregnant, remember?

It might not be their responsibility to arrange any sitters for their grandkids, but isn't it still their LEGAL responsibility to make sure their child goes to school?? IDK if the rules change when a teen has a baby, but i would think not.

Wow, put words into people's mouth's much?
That's not what I said. Re-read....and don't assume that's what I said.
Thanks.
ETA: I just need to clarify, in case anyone else thinks like epchick, in my opinion the best place for any child is in a two parent household with both mom and dad in the picture. In my opinoin 16 year olds don't make the best parents, and in my opinion a child born to a 16 year old has a much lower chance of doing well in life. Yes, there are exceptions to that statement.
Also, epchick, perhaps you should not put words into my posts that are not there. I don't need you to read me your riot act. Nor is what you interpreted about what I said correct. My opinion is just that, so why don't you go put words in someone elses mouth for today. K, thanks.

A chill pill...wow, how novel.
You added your interpretation.
I just wanted to clarify, because apparently to you, 16 year olds having kids is a great idea...but that's just my interpretation.
ETA: I clarified my opinion for you, I don't know why you have to be so hostile towards me. A two parent household with both mom and dad in a loving relationship is the best possible place for any child.
And again, if her parents were concerned with her education, things would be different, but apparently, they were not.

Oh yeah, your last comment was very mature
Seriously, if I misinterpreted what you said, all you had to do was nicely say that I did. No need to get all hostile about it. Geez.
