OMG - Rose & Bernard?! I'm so happy! But pissed at Juliet - it's an hour and a half into it, and it is just great, except for the whole Juliet not backing up Sawyer thing. And JACOB?????

I love this show.

What lies in the shadow of the statue? LATIN. (I think) My husband the latin teacher? Dead asleep. I'll have to wait for the recap on televisionwithoutpity.com tomorrow for the translation.

What IS wrong with Ben? And who the hell is/was Jacob?? I have to wait a whole summer/???

I think I said a while back (and I think I was in the ballpark or close enough) that suppose all of this was an afterlife of sorts...

Interesting how the Khemet god Set (The hippo statue at the beginning of the show <interestingly enough his wife Taweret, usually is represented as a pregnant hippo goddess, is also a goddess of fertility>) played into the story. Set (or Seth) was the god of destruction, chaos, and storms.

They never did give a name to the man sitting next to Jacob when they watched the carousel sailing off in the distance...I wouldn't be surprised if that is he...

Also I want to see how Richard plays into all of this!

I totally knew Jacob was a god from the first scene in the show. I have thought that he was the god of the island for a while, but it never occurred to me that he would be the one that would cause people to come on the island.

I loved the lines in the first scene, the other god (the one that now embodies Locke) said something about it all happening again and it ending the same way. It made me think that Jacob brings people to the island to entertain him in a sense. I don't understand why the other god wants to kill him? Many they are brothers like Romulus and Remus? Is there a god over them?

I actually thought the body in the box would be that of either Jacob or the other god.

The whole bomb thing is very confusing.......

What happened to the statue?

I thought the tapestry that Jacob made/ was making was cool.....it was Egyptian but had Greek lettering on it.

SWTXBelle: Did you ask your hubby about the translation? I wasn't sure if it was Spanish or Latin....

Ah well....I am watching it again with my sister who fell asleep last night!

Oh and I also think Christian will be Jacob now....

ETA: My sister just watched the first scene again.....I think this is a version of Osiris and Set......Set killed Osiris......

I just keep thinking this has something do with themes of mythology!
