My boss (who is more than twice my age) wore a tube top with a pantsuit last week.

Didn't we decide tube tops = bad?

What? How does that even work? You mean, like instead of wearing a camisole under a suit jacket that she then had on all day, she wore a tube top? Or do you mean she was strutting around the office in only a tube top for some of the day? ETA: er, I mean a tube top and pants, I guess. Only a tube top would be a totally different issue.

She had the jacket on all day, but it was unbuttoned so you could tell it was a tube top. It was about 40 here that day just so you can realize the inappropriateness.

Inappropriate on so many different levels.
Wow.

Agreed. She also wore a pink linen skirtsuit with black hose and pink peep toes a few weeks ago. I think she might provide me with endless fodder for this thread.

So weird. I have the impression that you live some place cold-ish, so the linen in early March is even weirder. The color scheme is also interesting.
I'm certainly no fashion maven, but I'm always perplexed when people are clearly making an effort to do something fashionably weird and they are over the age of 25 or so. If I'm doing something weird it probably reflects a lack of effort or will to do laundry.
This time of year is strange in Atlanta because it really does start getting warm and even hot, but it still seems wrong to really embrace summer fabrics, sandals, etc when there's still likely to be a cold snap. Who wants to wear linen one day and return to winter clothes the next? But it would be really hard to wait until Easter as your official start of season.

Yes, that would be the icing on the cake. I think the odds are high she would consider doing something like that if she knew it was an option.

I do live someplace coldish (the river has frozen and unfrozen at least three times in the last month) which makes it extra weird. I understand not waiting on linen until Easter or Memorial Day, but wait until it's a nice day!
