Totally agree! I said the same thing to my daughter at that exact point in the show. What a great scene and vehicle to tell the others about Lizzie. And Justin's eyes absolutely MADE the thing work. We actually started analyzing everyone's eyes and what a component of the show they are because the rest of their faces are so often covered up. The worst eyes - Meredith.
I also think that Sandra Oh's character is so much more appealing these days. They have given her more depth, more emotion, etc yet she retains that original, driven component. I really like her this season and not so much other seasons.
I admit it, I teared up as they heard the news...and when George went running down the hall, paused to gather himself, and put a smile on his face to see Izzie, well, what can I say? I just love George!

I will miss George when he leaves.
THIS is the Grey's I know and love.
And the guy with half a face, and his friends? Beautiful.
Lexie and Biiig Sloan? Hot!!
Torres, Hunt and McDreamy drinking at his trailer was moving.
I LOVED how Meredith showed up at the end and her little speech is SO far from "Pick me. Choose me. Love me."'
*applause* for Yang and Alex.

About time George was back in the episode. It didn't seem right that he wasn't around for Izzie. Then last night, seeing his reaction to the news was exactly how I would expect him to take it.

Welcome back Grey's! Where have you been all season???
I seriously cried when Christina broke the news to Alex and Bailey....Big Kudos to Mer, Do not let Derek tred on you like that!!!
The interns and their problems made me laugh hysterically....Its funny now that they see it on the other side...

I agree, I thought last night was great. This whole season has been pretty good so far - minus the Denny reappearance. I always thought they'd have Izzy die and George would be so upset he'd have to leave SGH but now I'm not so sure. It wouldn't really work if Derek ends up not saving Izzy...but who knows.

Oh, I definitely think Derek will save Izzie, for now. (and of course, save himself in the process) The brain tumors are only part of her problem. For the ratings, for the fans, Izzie's demise will be a long story line ( a la Denny and the transplant/LVad wire) that will find all of us in front of our televisions on the night of the season finale sobbing into kleenex.
And I, for one, will be loving every minute!!!

Basically, since Denny died, I've expected Izzie to die. I might not have thought it'd be this soon, but I figured that at the very least, it'd happen in the series finale. Just so she could be with Denny again.

This is exactly what I'm afraid will happen if Izzie dies!

Alex almost had me in tears.
McRambo: Wow! Intense! I'm glad he went to see Derek. There really are some very effective neuro treatments for PTSD.
And Derek! That was perfect! MerDer are finally a real couple who struggle with an issue, fight their way through it and end up stronger for it. Wow!

Best. Episode. This. Season.
Someone please give Justin Chambers an Emmy!
McArmy was so believeable!!
Cheif was hilarious.
Callie and Mer playing bodyguard, yes.
Once I heard Alex doing the voiceover, I knew this episode would be different. *sigh*
My show is back.

I feel like if they let Izzie live that the show will become completely unrealistic. The show is definitely unrealistic but Izzie becoming that 5% who lives through what she has will really send the show off the deep end. Cancer that metastasizes to the brain, liver, etc.? I watched my husband's father die an excruciating death when his sarcoma metastasized to his liver, brain, kidneys, etc. And this is after the doctors did numerous surgeries in hopes of removing all the tumors. If they have Izzie live, I'm kinda curious how they're going to address that 5% chance they gave her at diagnosis.
Also, I'm not a doctor but I'd imagine that if your cancer metastasized to your digestive system that you'd have some significant symptoms such as indigestion, constipation, nausea, etc. Izzie's cancer is in her liver so I'd imagine she might be jaundiced. Her only symptoms were the brain symptoms but other than that she felt completely fine. Is that possible?

It depends on how bad it is has gotten in the liver, really. My grandmother had colon cancer with mets to the liver and was given 3 months to live, but she lived for over a year. It was several months before the liver cancer gave her symptoms. She wasn't jaundiced at all until a few days before she passed away and we had a hard time telling because she'd just gone to Florida to see her oldest sister and we thought she had a tan.
