well, alrighty then.

Whatever group you are interested in, I suggest you do the following:

1. Learn some deference and discretion. This will get you far in the quest to join the Fab Four. Also learn the correct terminology.
2. Check out the local chapter of XYZ Org. Talk to the Membership chair.
3. Check out the national website of XYZ Org. If you still have questions, contact the National Membership person for that org.
4. Review suggestion #1.

I hope that helps. If not, I wish you luck on your journey, anyway.

You will not get direct answers on GC about the NPHC process.

We've told "her' that 4 pages ago and she chooses to ignore that advice...

Reiteration is not working... Maybe she will respect you more? IDK?

All kidding aside:

It makes me wonder about the level of "exclusivity" we are providing in our organizations. We do not take any random "Smo" into our ranks. Why? Because, what happens is life-long membership is compromised.

When I came through my process, I needed to know over 100 women, knock on all their doors, arrange a time to speak to them for less than five minutes to give my 15 second "elevator pitch". All in a matter of 2 weeks. I also had to look "professional" by being appropriately dressed no matter what activity I was doing. So, if that was digging a ditch or feeding the homeless, I needed to know exactly what I was wearing, moreover, it had to be consistent with my interested sisters.

When I attended my Rush, I had to know every name of well over 100 women by first name, shake their hand and identify and introduce myself to them. If an interested sister did not know, I was required to assist them. To this day, my linesisters have needed assistance, and I have been there for them.

When I made line, to this day, I just received a ton of emails from my "Back", we found ourselves coordinated sometime during that 2 week of above ground pledging, in fact, Aesop's Fables completed the entire Ivy Leaf Pledge Club without incident on Spelman College's campus. One of the most powerful line songs we sang is still remembered to this day.

Most of us are active. In fact we have a Ivy Beyond the Wall on our like #35--RIP.

So, when someone who is NOT a member pipes up to me about what it is like to be a member, and why we cannot relent and tell them what the deal is, I do not understand this generation of interest and I would not want them to be a part of my Sorority I love dearly, truly and dedicated so much of life for almost 20 years.

This will be the ONLY place on GC where anyone will see this. Only my linesisters "get" this concept. Moreover, my Big Sisters "get" this because they are on my Facebook Page, too.
