The websites to NPHC provide answers to BGLO questions regarding how to apply/join and the requirements......undergrad and grad....I know my org's website does.

Whether you ask here or ask someone personally, the answers SHOULD be the same no matter how many times you pose the question.

I do not care about what you do in your real life. The assistance services I provide costs money and I have a business to run. So, if you desire that kind of support, there is a cost to it.

Like I said before, if you want to impress us, make all "A's" on all your tests...

What's your plans for Spring Break?

I may be completely lane swerving here, but I've always felt like the best way to learn about ANY org (NPHC or otherwise) is to get off the internet and actually meet people who are in said organization.

Everything else is just kind of extraneous. I mean you say you haven't met any members, but you're sitting here on a website talking about it. Why not actually get out and meet some?

I could be wrong though.

You are right, most "on it" "interests" would do just like you noted... That is the way it has been done for decades. But for some reason, IDK, these new crop of "interests" are lazy and demand to be spoon-fed. I wonder how they are handling the recession these days for being so lazy?

I have already had spring break. I worked the whole time. I also did some studying for some exams I have this week.

I have been to the websites and they do answer the general questions for those that are ON any particular campus. I have found that they are not as helpful when it comes to information on membership pertaining to those who are not ON the campus where the active chapter is. I was only asking for a little insight when it came to that...

I have not met any members yet because I am not a student on that campus. They also have not had an event in a while. I am however involved in something this week that could potentially put me in the presence of such members!!

Maybe you need to rethink your pursuit for membership after you complete college? Sounds like you are in college by a wing and a prayer and it is probably better for you and anyone else who loves and cares for you to not have these activities in your life at this time, and try to finish school, get a job and move on with your life.

If you still want to join, then it will be available after you have improved upon your communication skills, which only come by maturity and life experiences.

@bolded: Now you know that is a lie because I know for a fact my Sorority's International Website has specific language regarding that kind information. Which means to me (Thank God and Praise Jesus!) you are not interested in my Sorority!!! Unfortunately, my sistergreeks have to contend with you and I will let them speak to their websites...

Basically you are lazy. Reading is fundamental! So, I don't want anyone who chooses not to read my Sorority's website to desire membership after I paid to put accurate information in there! If you really do attend a HBCU, your professors would have told you anything in the book is fair game. Same thing with website. Same thing with the LIBRARY!!! Same thing with the campus or campi that the chapter of your interest GLO is present.

Hustle!!!

OMG!! Yall are so rude. Does it really take all that to answer this person's question?? I think, as Greeks, sometimes we forget how it was to be a GDI. She stated in her message that she is not even on the same campus as the greek organization that she is interested in and she just wants to know what would be a subtle way of letting them know she is interested. I think the simple reply of showing up to activities and various community service projects of the organization would have been a sufficient answer. I know we Greeks are supposed have the mentatlity of "we don't need you but you need us" but does it have to go to this extreme? I think we can all agree that BGLO's are already being viewed in a negative manner by outsiders because of hazing and lawsuites, do we really need to add fuel to the fire by being rude and condescending to potential applicants??

Lane swerving again I know, but I personally don't think my reply was rude.

It's true, if you want to learn about an org (and potentially be part of it), you have to MEET people in it. Sitting on a message board talking about meeting XYZ sorority members doesn't get you anywhere.

There is nothing rude about that.

How about some discretion, perhaps?

She is loaded with "excuses"...

It is a liability for me to speak about anything related to membership beyond the International Website, campus/local websites, Google, libraries and what is said to her face-to-face in her local area--assuming it is a "her" because one never knows on the internet these days...

We do not KNOW her, so it is unwise to tell her anything...

LOL at the accusation of rudeness, followed by "GDI." And why is it that some people will use their first post to accuse everyone of rudeness? It always makes me suspect a sock puppet.

Hey, I can probably get her to tell us what college she attends and her location... But, I am not interested in doing that. However, I suspect it is an online school like University of Phoenix where the school does not allow GLO's on its campus due to liability issues.

It is one thing to have been on a traditional college campus, join a GLO, then have to transfer to University of Phoenix...

It is another to have always attended University of Phoenix, and desire membership. Speak to the school, because they have resoundingly said no to the International Board of Directors, citing these organizations do not add to the mission of the University, etc...

It is the same deal with a Community College situation.

Why do WE have to deal with this?
