OP,

have you tried point charts? A little juvenile, sure, but sometimes helpful. Also, positive things our Member at Large (head of standards) does to counter act her needing to point out what you did wrong... is a sister of the week, Lovies, other ideas to bring sisters together.

But, really it's your job to enforce the rules, and if these rules were enforced last year, or by the last person who had your position, you should push them even more. Try talking to the girl who had your position last term... she may have advice

That's part of the problem. Enforcing rules regarding how meetings run ISN'T her job. If someone keeps blowing off meetings and needs to be disciplined, THAT'S her job.

The girl in my place last year didnt do anything, and everyone says that. I am doing a points system, but its not seeming to help, and everytime that i have planed a sisterhood event no one comes. What is a "Lovie"?

The point is, however, you are being forced to do things that AREN'T part of your office (like maintain order in meetings). That is the job of the parliamentarian and president working together - NOT the standards chair.

The points system needs to have a consequence - such as, if you don't accumulate however many positive points you aren't allowed to attend the formal or social functions.

If people are blowing off events that have been approved and voted on by the chapter on a regular basis, they need to be brought in front of the standards board and informed that their membership is in jeopardy.

Lovies are when you build groups of 3 girls that normally don't hang out with eachother, and they have to do something together, either plan an event, or hang out. Often times they hang out cause we dont have THAT meny events. But, basically, you put three girls from different cliques together and they go do something like dinner, or bowling, or just chill and watch TV together. It helps break up the cliqus and make everything run smoother cause you're actually FRIENDS with more girls, and not just sisters who wear the same letters. You find you have more in common with girls that you never knew. Or you learn cool things about them. Like, I knew a girl for over a year.... never knew her parents were from germany, and she's the only one in her family not born in germany. Made me realize why certain things were important. Anyway.... It helps girls break the ice with newer members, and relieve tension if there was a problem in the past, they can get over it now and just hang out. It helps.
