Quick Question
I had a blast last night at Bobby. I will post my story later. I just had a question for all of you GCers out there.
Should I tell the sororities that I went through recruitment in the fall? I feel like when I tell them that it brings my chances down. What should I say?
Thank you so much for your help.

I wouldn't bring it up. But if someone asks about it, I would say "Yes, I went through recruitment this fall, but I didn't find anywhere to call home."
However, at my school, the sororities usually don't do informal recruitment, so this is just what I think would be the best thing to say. Hope it helps anyways.

Personally, I wouldn't volunteer the information. But if someone asks, I wouldn't lie. If someone does ask about it, don't get awkward and look like you're worried. Just be calm, honest, and only divulge as many details about your previous rush experience as you'd like.
Also, be prepared for sorority members to recognize you. It does happen.

Spring Recruitment
On Tuesday, I visited Bobby. I really connected with the first girl I talked to. We talked about the most random things. The conversation just seemed to really flow. I told her that I went through recruitment in the fall and was trying again. She thought that was very courageous of me. She even introduced me to one of her sisters who also failed during fall recruitment but succeeded in the spring. This gave me a confidence booster. The next girl I talked to was very sweet. She was a new member, so she was having trouble keeping the conversation going. I just asked her lots of questions. I didn't connect with the last girl I talked to. She was very quiet and I had a hard time hearing her. At the end of the party, my Pi Chi from fall came up to me. It was so great to see her.
On Wednesday, I visited Greg and Carol. I never received a phone call from Bobby. I had an amazing time at Greg. I felt at home here. I talked to about ten girls; each of them was really sweet. We had amazing conversations. I even got a tour of their house. I had a blast! After the party at Greg, I walked over to Carol. I didn’t have fun there. I was rushed with another girl, who I found completely annoying. She kept talking about all of her friends from other universities who were in Carol. I had a hard time connecting with the girls in the sorority, but they were definitely nicer than I remembered.
On Thursday, I visited Peter. I didn’t receive a phone call from Greg or Carol. I really connected with the girls in Peter. I met about fifteen different girls. I found something in common with each of them. They also gave me a tour of their house. Although I was upset about not getting asked back to Greg, I could see myself at Peter.
In the end, I never a phone call from Peter. Two of my roommates who rushed with me received a bid: Bobby and Peter. I’m so happy for them, yet at the same time I wish it was me.
I'm so confused on why I keep getting cut…

Your story sounds very similar to mine. I rushed in the fall, and got cut from all sororities except one. That one I honestly could not see myself in, and I really did not like them. They were the only ones doing spring recruitment.
I really feel you. It is so tough. I'm not a girl who cries much, but I was hysterical during fall recruitment just like you. I wish you all the best of luck!

I think one round of formal and one round of COB was probably enough for her to be honest.

Yeah, maybe..I was just wondering because her last activity was only a few days ago and she mentioned 4 posts up (back in Feb) she was trying for Fall 09...
