I haven't decided which sororities I'm going to rush.
The events begin in January. I will keep you updated as spring recruitment begins.
If I were you, I'd go to as many events as possible for as many sororities as possible. Keep your options OPEN. The more sororities you rush, the more likely you are to receive a bid.

I agree. I'd suggest attending events for as many as you can, even if they weren't a chapter that you particularly liked during formal recruitment. You'd be surprised how your opinions can change.

Countdown to Recruitment

So informal recruitment begins on Tuesday. I can't wait! I have such a mix of emotions....I'm excited to find my home, yet nervous at the same time. I've heard a lot of girls are going through spring recruitment and I know the chances of receiving a bid are slim. So I've decided to rush Bobby, Greg, Peter, and Carol.

Here is my schedule for the week:

Tuesday
Bobby

Wednesday
Bobby (invite only)
Peter
Greg
Carol

Thursday
Peter
Greg
(invite only)
Carol (invite only)

I'll keep you posted as the events take place.

Quick Question

I had a blast last night at Bobby. I will post my story later. I just had a question for all of you GCers out there.

Should I tell the sororities that I went through recruitment in the fall? I feel like when I tell them that it brings my chances down. What should I say?

Thank you so much for your help.

I wouldn't bring it up. But if someone asks about it, I would say "Yes, I went through recruitment this fall, but I didn't find anywhere to call home."

However, at my school, the sororities usually don't do informal recruitment, so this is just what I think would be the best thing to say. Hope it helps anyways.

Personally, I wouldn't volunteer the information. But if someone asks, I wouldn't lie. If someone does ask about it, don't get awkward and look like you're worried. Just be calm, honest, and only divulge as many details about your previous rush experience as you'd like.

Also, be prepared for sorority members to recognize you. It does happen.
