I tend to get bored with my hair a lot too. My hair comes just below my shoulders and I love to try new things. But, instead of dying or cutting it everytime the wind blows, I get a sewn in weave. I started getting them regularly, at least every four months, about two years ago. I like to give my hair a rest because I try not to perm it more than four times a year.
The sewn in allows me to try new things while giving my real hair a much needed rest. It is braided up underneath so it can grow and be healthy without me touching it. I leave the front out so it looks completely natural. Every time I get it done, I keep it in about 4 - 6 weeks. In my opinion, it will start to look raggedy after that unless you buy the really expensive hair (like $200 -$2000 a pack
).
I have worn it long, layered, in a bob, and I even had a very, very short one that looked like I had my hair tapered in the back. I have tried lots of styles and colors without doing a thing to my real hair.
