Its funny MaryKay has been around all these years and instead of respecting the ambitions of other women we have women that decide that because they themselves are not ambitious enough to build a multi-billion dollar conglomerate they would hate on those that have the ambition and drive to do so. Love, life is filled with too much hurt and pains try passing out some love to your fellow sisters as oppose to tearing them down.

Its easy to point a finger, but it takes a real women to want to create a solution to a problem. MaryKay saw there was a problem and devised a solution can you say that you created a positive change that affected more than just you and those you know. Just something to think about.

I don't "hate on" Mary Kay because its founder built "a multi-billion dollar conglomerate" - I hate on Mary Kay cosmetics because IT GIVES ME A RASH!

That is still not a valid reason to hate on MK because you tried the wrong product for your skin type...that is just plain dumb. I have customers that have very sensitive skin and may not be able use the skin care for whatever reason, but still will rave about the company and the opportunity and support my busines by buying, lip color, perfume or body wash or anything else that they like. So like my sister said above, no nead to hate on anyone for anything. It is NOT for everybody!!! Just like I can't use Skin So Soft by AVON...I have a violent allergic reaction just by smelling that product on someone else...the first time I put it on my skin I got a rash ALL OVER MY DAM BODY...not just my face..but do I hate AVON? NO! Will I support my friend if they sell AVON, yes...but i just stay away from the SSS product line.

I do not buy products that give me a rash no matter WHO is selling it. To do so would be, as you are fond of saying, STUPID. I also do not attend any "parties" hosted by people claiming to be my friends who want to make a buck off of me. That is a poor way to use friends, in my opinion.

I take excellent care of my skin - have since I was in elementary school - and it sounds like I probably know more about it than you. If you knew anything about skin care and cosmetics, you would know that there is NO brand that works for everyone and that some people may only be able to tolerate a small handful of cosmetic/skin care lines. Go away, crazy!

There are a few products that Mary Kay has that I like, but overall I think the ability to really make a good living from Mary Kay has kind of diminished...and not because Mary Kay died. I think there are just too many consultants out there. People who got into the business some years ago have fared much better. Now it is difficult for women to build up a clientele because there ARE so many consultants and unless they decided to steal clients, they have to struggle. It is difficult for the women to recruit because, again, there ARE so many consultants.

I like Mary Kay products because they last me a long time and work better on my fair skin then anything else I have used. However, I am tired of being pestered by the person I originally bought from to buy more or host a party for her. I am not going to host a party unless I need to buy more so I can get the discount, and no one I know has the money to spend on Mary Kay!!!!

Your consultant should not be pesturing you, if you feel she is then tell her nicely. And if you don't have the money to buy the products hosting is the way to go as you can get the products you need at almost half the cost. If you were smart you would host more often to get MORE products and in return your helping your consultant with her business....so it is a win/win situation...Also, if you think your friends can't afford the products then they should be hosting too....or better yet sign up so you can buy the products at 50% off and be a personal use consultant.

PS - if you're not happy with your consultant you can always find another one in your area...www.marykay.com click on the find a consultant link, add your zip and voila.

Agreed we are many, but I have to tell you my mother and I have been consultant for five years and it's very far and in between that we find people that already have their own consultant. I meet so many people that have never tried it before or maybe have tried it 10+ years ago...and there are the people who had consultants but their consultants are no longer doing the business the need a new consultant....so don't think it is over saturated or that you won't be able to build your business. The opportunity is out there...go get it.
