And Nittany, contrary to the Wiki article to which you kindly linked (and which provided some good chickles) bow ties are not hard to tie -- at least not if you're intelligent and sophisticated enough to wear one to begin with.
yeah, but then it would spill on your shirt/jacket

The shirts I wear are Joseph A. Banks' Travelers shirts.

I don't know if they're supposed to be stain resistant, but I don't have any stains on my shirts

They're damned good shirts though...

I'm sorry but this is just trying too hard

"From the heritage of southerner's influential attire to the Old Money families across the land..."

A little classless if you ask me. If you have to brag...

Seriously?!

I think they're trying too hard when they don't have to at all. They have a good product that fills a certain niche. Finding the "frattiest" gentlemen just seems silly.

They clearly want to be the fratty Abercrombie and Fitch.

(And I'm old enough to remember when Abercrombie and Fitch was fratty . . . er, um . . . preppy.)

I agree that Southern Proper's website is a bit declasse.

Also, I guess I getting old as when I prepped (in NE), one either wore a starched shirt or a wrinkled natural cotton one, usually BB or J.Press.

I'll agree on BB polos, but for dress oxfords, no way on RL Polo. Real dress shirts don't have logos on them.

(Of course, I'm probably biased anyway. I don't think I've worn anything Polo in 20+ years -- I developed an almost irrational hatred and contempt for the brand sometime around law school.)

Those sound a lot like the ones I wear - I'm a big fan of the Brooks Brothers Wrinkle-Free shirts.
