One I remember from back in the day was for a St. Patrick's Day set up dance. It had a big green shamrock and said "I Got Lucky!"

My husband had a funny one from back in tha day when he was in school...

On the front it said something simple like "Rush EN" (greek letters, mind you)

The back was the funny part. I showed a 4 block cartoon story with a stick figure. First block said "See Dick", and there's the stick figure. Second block says "See Dick go to college", and there's the stick figure with books in his hand in front of a college building. Third block says "See Dick rush Sigma Nu", with the stick figure doing something, can't remember what. Fourth block says, "Chicks love Dick" and the stick figure has a bunch of girl stick figures all around him.

My boyfriend's chapter of KA had that shirt. It was considered too inappropriate so the older guys with their "girls love KA Dick" shirts horde them and do everything possible to not let the younger guys steal them.

I saw someone who was wearing a fraternity shirt that said 10 qualities that define an ABC and then said Honesty and directly underneath that was Understanding then Generosity, Excellence, Courtesy- you know an acrostic. It finished but I'll let you figure out the rest. I couldn't believe they were wearing that.

last year's bid day shirt on the front said "its not the size that matters" and on the back "its how you use it" or something along those lines becuase we are the smallest group on campus

greek week shirt from a couple of years ago playing on being the oldest sorority on campus:
letters on front
on back: Having more fun than you since 1897

last years greek week shirt playing on being local:

front: I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T
Do you know what that means?

Back:
NO NATIONALS
NO RULES
NO PROBLEMS

the 2 local fraternities on our campus liked the slogan so much we used it for our Local BBQ shirts over the summer

and a fun one we did for homecomming with sigma pi

front: 2 of amerikaz most wanted
back :ain't nuthin but a gangsta party, with our names below that

it was last minute plans to do homecomming with them and no one could think of a slogan for the shirt. the girl in charge called me asking for ideas for the shirt and right when she asked me, 2pacs "amerikaz most wanted" came on. it was perfect

did you get any flack from other greeks on campus for wearing these shirts? did you hear anything about local vs national, etc? or maybe you already have that dynamic at your particular campus. just curious.

That's what I was thinking. At first, it was almost as though her local GLO was putting down national GLOs but, then she talks about doing an event with a national fraternity. It's one thing to have a snarky message on the back of your shirt to say "I'm better than you" because I'm sure everyone does something like that but, when you put down an entire system of national organizations it seems outright, rude.

Eitherway-back to the shirts...

It seems as though a lot of us Phi Mus love to use the Phi (as an O) and the M (as an M) while spelling out "home"...in some way they say things like "Welcome Home" or use a Wizard of Oz theme and say "There's no place like Home"....

One of the fraternities on my campus also had this shirt about 4 years ago, but it wasn't their main rush shirt. It was more of a, "we're gonna order these randomly, who wants one?" kind of thing. I don't even know if half the chapter ordered them. And they wouldn't really wear them on campus or to class.
