According to irishpipes' thread, the only closed NPC chapter at Idaho is Alpha Chi Omega, which she lists as having closed in 1988. So that would be a possibility too.

I knew some GCers would be able to figure it out!

Scratch one more off the list...
Not a Theta. I checked under both her maiden and married names.

In the grand scheme of life does it matter if Greeks ruled the White House?
Probably not.

Just curious. If she isn't a sorority member, do you think any sorority will reach out to her and invite her to be an alumnae member like what AKA did to Michelle Obama?

I doubt my NPC would. We don't do honorary AI. If a woman is selected for alumna initiation, she would be expected to actively participate in the fraternity, and I don't think Governor Palin would have time for that.

Exactly. Being Governor of an entire state is seems like it'd be an automatic 'in' to the Accomplished Alums section of the sorority website.

I hope to God mine doesn't.
Dunno, there's just so much controversy surrounding Sarah Palin, and I don't know what sorority in their right mind would want to invite her for membership. AGD does not have honorary memberships, either.

I disagree about the controversy part but I doubt an NPC would invite a high-profile politician because their existing membership would of course include women of differing political views. I doubt they would want to alienate half of their existing membership. You know, the ones that are actually doing the work for the Fraternity.

Last week my step-dad and I discussed the election and who we were planning on voting for. At that point, neither of us had decided which candidate was the lesser evils.
I talk to him this morning and he's voting for McCain because he says Sarah Palin is hottttt.
(I'm sure he was joking of course )

Really, you see her as being enormously controversial? She doesn't seem that way to me, especially had she not been picked up as VP.
I don't see anyone offering her AI just because it would seem cheap. Well, not cheap exactly, but a little pathetic to offer membership just because a person with no connection to your group was nominated as a VP candidate. It'd be something else if she met the same requirements groups are generally looking for in AIs.

I agree totally, plus it would seem to send a message that being famous somehow makes someone more attractive for membersip than a regular person, and the regular people are the ones who support the GLO at the grass roots level. To me it would seem like a slight to them. The cool part of having notable members is that they chose you and you them before anyone knew they were going to be notable. That is lost if you AI famous people, in my opinion.

Didn't Florence Henderson AI for DZ? I thought she did. I always wondered what made certain stars choose to AI once they were famous. Did Florence have a prior connection with DZ initially? Maybe a DZ can answer that...

Not after being publicly exposed as a liar. She's a 44 year old grandmother!

that's actually not uncommon as you make it out to be. whether that's something to be so positive about is another story.
the denial of extending alumnae membership, IMO would be upon the actual lying, not because of the young grandmother bit.

That's what I meant.
I realize I am late to the party, and that it is elsewhere.
