thanks for all the help guys.
two clarifications-i did not move in next to a fraternity, i chose a neighborhood and a few years later a fraternity moved in (BUT, i'm not trying to start some kind of "i was here first" discussion, that doesn't really matter at this point) and i brought up the race issue because i've seen it discussed here before so i wanted to at least acknowledge it, but not discuss it in this thread.
i do really appreciate the suggestions.
thanks again

I am sure there are noise restrictions in your area. If it is to loud, then feel free to call the local law enforcement

As someone who is still in school at a chapter somewhat similar to UGA KA, calling the cops is probably one of your worst options and should be your last result.

That's the same way as telling them to hush in my opinion. It's gotta be damn loud before you call the cops, because local police have a tendency to tell you who called the cops (unintentional, just kind of pointing at a house and going "could you keep it down, you're keeping those people awake") when they come to tell you to hush.

You don't want to make enemies with them, that will be 10x worse than it is to start with, because "Hey, lets go make some noise and wake up that person that always complains" seems like a wonderful idea when you're intoxicated. If it's that bad find somewhere like a library to study and just learn to put up with it. Like I said, if I can get my work done living in a fraternity house on the row, you can certainly cope with living in the same neighborhood.

Actually, I could not agree with you more!!!!!!!!!!!

Living near a GLO House Is and May Be noisey as we all know!

But we have to live in the neighborhood and get along with them.

I have been in many houses of not only my own and others and while depending where the houses are and when they were occupied the folks who live near can be a problem!

Prime example:

A City builds a major Airport. It is in the friggen middle of no where!

Dah, builders put in additions and then BITCH about the NOISE!

Remeber, we as GLOs need to be good neighbors, so use you heads!
