Did not feel it at all whatsoever. I was on the road at the time. My mom felt a jolt at her house and my dad said the building he was in shook.

I never seem to feel earthquakes. About five years ago one happened while I was at work. It was interesting that only some people felt it even though we were in the same building; a couple hundred miles from the epicenter.

I'm glad some of our SoCal GCers are good, hope all the rest are fine as well!

I always wondered why some people never seem to feel earthquakes as well. When I was living in the Bay Area we had a few strong ones come through and I never felt them. I remember one time I was outside talking with a friend, and people come running out of the dorms. Everyone was evacuated cause supposedly the building was shaking. I never felt ANYTHING. In fact my friend and I looked at each other like and we were standing within 5 feet of the building.

We were sitting on the beach in Coronado and it was a pretty good shaker all the way down here! Seems like it lasted almost a minute, maybe not as long or shaky as the Northridge quake, but enough to get your attention.

Checked in with my folks in Orange County, they had a few things fall off the walls but nothing big. I haven't seen the news yet so I don't know if there was any major damage.

Other than that, it was still a perfect beach day!

I was at work with my kinder kids when it struck. My poor students. I had not taught them about Drop & Cover yet as it is only the beginning of the 4th week of school but I sure taught them after. It took a long while to calm them down.

Yep, I'm the same way. We get small (in the 5s) earthquakes up here every once in a while, but I never feel them. I recall learning of several in high school that were a complete surprise to me. But then we had the 6.8 quake in 2001 and that was a whole 'nother ballgame. I've never felt something like that before...the ground felt like it was rolling in waves under our feet. And of course several of us at work did the exact opposite of what we had been taught all those years in school (duck, cover and hold) - we froze in hallways and just stood there, got in doorways, some ran outside!
